Ava's Story

Ava is Allergic to Peanuts

Karen tells us that Joe is a regional consultant for Merrill Corporation, a litigation support company.  He has worked there for nine years and has been in the business for seventeen years.  Karen previously worked at Wells Fargo as a manager for twelve years, but now a stay-at-home mom for five years.  The Turners have two children.  Aidan is five years old and Ava is three.  Ava is allergic to peanuts.  The Turners found out about that allergy after Ava's relative exposed her to peanut butter when she was fifteen months old.  Ava had a delayed reaction of red, watery eyes, runny nose and hives on her face.  She subsequently had a skin test and tested positive for the peanute allergy.  The Turners were also informed that Ava also needed to avoid all seafood in the hopes this action would prevent an allergy to that food.  Ava was just retested after her third birthday and, unfortunately, the peanut allergy still exists.
